The site for the Media and Cultural City is located close to the old city centre, surrounded by the main cultural street with public buildings to the north and a busy dual carriageway to the south.

The new state-of-the-art Islamic Prayer Facility at the University of Melbourne is designed by DESYPHER to accommodate 300 people. Also named as the musalla, it was commissioned by the University of Melbourne to include a prayer space partly divisioned by a relocatable screen, dedicated wudhu areas for men and women, disable facility and a resource centre corner.

Designed by Aedas, the designed resort compromise from clusters of Rooms and individual villas are either placed strategically into the steep terrain or bridging over its valleys. An intricate weave of hiking trails intermixed with pocket oasis, along with the resort itself, results in an almost “non-architectural” landscape solution. The lines of where the mountains meet the hotel are completely blurred.

The most critical phase in the construction of the Khan Shatyr Entertainment Centre in Kazhakstan was successfully completed yesterday with the erection of its 150 metre-high tripod mast. The 2,000 tonne structure was lifted into place by four cranes in a process that took two weeks.
