MGM Mirala
Buro Happold worked in close collaboration with Gensler Architects providing engineering support for the development of the MGM Mirala master plan in Abu Dhabi. The project was envisioned as a mixed use leisure and entertainment district comprising of hotels, shops, restaurants and bars, with a 12000 seat area and convention centre. The goal of the designer was to combine the unique cultural and historic fishing port of Abu Dhabi Mina Zayed area with a high end development to provide a one stop entertainment district with modern rail and road link.
Situated within the North and South Quay entertainment zones, offering the ultimate experience in entertainment and leisure is the centre piece of the project; the MGM Grand Hotel and Signature Condo Hotel, offer luxurious accommodation and fine dining with a total of 900 rooms and 200 residential units. These are flanked by two other hotels, the Style Hotel and Ultral Hotel, MGM’s new luxury brand hotels, offering a combined total of 500 rooms with 300 residential units.
The North Quay will be a vibrant quarter on the waterfront providing mix of high quality retail, food and beverage outlets. The South Quay will provide a lively mix of cultural and heritage activities. |
